Over a career spanning more than thirteen years, he has worked as a loan officer, a team lead, and spent over three years building an entire national mortgage operation from the ground up as President of Mortgage Lending at Neighbors Bank. That last role is one he is particularly proud of, and for good reason. Starting something from nothing and growing it into a full-scale operation takes a different kind of person. The experience also gave Sam something most loan officers simply do not have: a complete understanding of the mortgage process from every seat at the table, not just the one facing the client. Licensed throughout the country with deep roots in the Southeast and the Heartland, Sam brings over thirteen years of experience to every transaction and a specialty that sets him apart in a crowded field. He has closed more than 1,000 VA loans in his career. That is not a typo. His work serving veterans and active duty service members has shaped not just his expertise but his entire approach to the job. He carries what he describes as the heart of a servant leader, someone who puts others first, stays a step or two ahead, and makes sure the people around him are better for having worked with him. Clients who work with Sam consistently say the same things: he took his time, he paid attention to the details, and he made sure they felt like the owners of their journey into homeownership rather than just passengers in the process. That kind of intentional, empowering approach does not happen by accident. It is the result of more than a decade of showing up that way, every time. Away from the office, Sam is a husband and the father of four very active kids, three daughters and a son, which means most of his free time involves keeping up with all of them. When he manages to carve out a moment for himself, you will find him with extended family and close friends, ideally with golf, live sports, or a really good meal somewhere in the mix. He has also coached extensively over the years including boys and girls basketball, fastpitch softball, and baseball. Servant leader on the field, servant leader at the closing table.
